A Sweet Ride, a full brother to Indiana Sires Stakes champion Miss Sweetness and Sweetsgetintheway, topped Indiana Standardbred Sale Company's 2010 Select Yearling Sale, held Saturday, September 25 at the Indiana State Fairgrounds, with a $52,000 final bid. Out of Electric Yankee mare Sweet Electric, the colt was consigned by Victory Hill Farm and purchased by Bobby Brower.

Pacers occupied nine of the top 10 spots in the sale, with Panspacificflight colt Fridaynightflight bringing the next highest price at $47,000. The first foal out of Grinfromeartoear mare Ramblin Rosie, the colt was purchased by William DeLong of Illinois.

Cincinnati Girl, a filly out of Royal Presitge mare R Prestige Lo, topped all trotters sold. The Cincinnati Kid yearling was hammered down for $31,000, purchased by Post Time Partners of Delaware. A total of 132 yearlings were sold for a gross of $991,300, yielding an average of $7,510.

This year’s catalog will offer more than 150 yearlings from Indiana’s leading sires and the first crops of several new stallions. Outstanding sires from other programs also will be represented.

This year’s sale will be held at the Indiana State Fairgrounds’ West Pavilion with a 9:30 a.m. start time Saturday morning, September 25. Yearlings will be available for inspection beginning Friday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. Indiana Standardbred Sales Company also will host a party for consignors and buyers September 24 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. The event is sponsored by the Indiana Standardbred Association.
